Shortly after I received the news that Harlequin Romance was to cease publication in September 2006 and a new, as of yet 'unnamed' line, was to be created to take its place, I received a second telephone call. That one was very exciting! I was asked if I'd like to write a book for the launch month and I think I must have thought about my answer to that for all of two seconds ... YES!
Each of the 'launch' authors took/or was given a popular mini-series, so as to ensure a nice balance.
And that was the starting point. I was to write a London based office romance. I put together a couple of ideas and 'Jemima's Story' was the one my then editor, Kimberley Young, chose.
The idea of writing a romance about a newly divorced mum-of-two came easily. It's a situation which has resonance for me because several of my girlfriends are currently in that position - and it's such a tough place to be.
Covent Garden (right), where Myles's PR company is situated, is a real place in London. It's a vibrant and diverse area known for its street performers, theatres, shops, daily markets, restaurants and the world famous Royal Opera House. It's also a place I know well.
With five children I also know lots about what might amuse a couple of boys in the city. Thames River Cruises are just good fun. And 'The London Eye' (below) is a must.

If you look really closely at the next picture you'll be able to see the 'clown with exceptionally long arms and big white hands' Ben and Sam saw from their capsule.

The views out are absolutely stunning. I can't think of many places I'd rather be proposed to!
